About the agency

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is an independent agency of the United States government that works to promote the safety of consumer products though coordinating recalls, evaluating products that are the subject of consumer complaints. The CPSC also develops safety standards and conducts research into product-related illness and injury.[1]
